The Romanian construction industry rose last year to 9.5–9.7 billion euros
The construction industry was among those sectors that registered the most significant fall during the crisis years. According to Mr. Laurenţiu Plosceanu, President of the Romanian Construction Entrepreneurs Association (ARACO), the market reached a value of about 9.5-9.7 billion euros in 2011.
The President of ARACO states that 2012 will bring a series of uncertainties regarding the ability to finance contracts. It is not yet known if the Romanian Government will be able to improve the absorption of structural funds for constructions.
With 2012 being an election year, it is likely that there will be more investments in the construction sector, but at this time financial resources are still uncertain.
