The agreement, which the EU legislators reached at the end of 2017, was published in the Official Journal of the EU on 19th June 2018.The reformed directive will enter into force on 9 July. This is the first of a total of eight legislative proposals in the EU’s winter energy package to go through the entire legislative process. The deadline for transposition into national law is 20 months (March 2020). Among other things, all EU states must introduce an electric charging station obligation for certain non-residential buildings.
